How it plays
Players stand behind a line and throw beanbags at the crows. A hit tips the crow backward on its hinge, so it is clear who scored and resetting takes seconds. The crows carry different point values, so players go for the easy target or chase the big score.
Older kids enjoy aiming for the higher-value crows, and adults get surprisingly competitive when a small prize is on offer.
Scoring ideas
For older players, try trick shots: off-hand throws, eyes closed, or throwing from a seat on a hay bale.
- Add up the points from three throws, highest total wins
- Clean sweep bonus: knock down every crow and score double
- Pick your crow: call your target first, only called hits count
- Family round: parents and kids throw together for one combined score
What your rental includes
We deliver the fence, crows and beanbags, set it up on a small flat space, and mark a short throwing line for little kids and a longer one for adults. Bigger crowd? Ask for two lanes on your quote. We show your volunteer how to reset the crows, then pack it all away at the end. No power needed.
Events it suits
Conk the Crow is ideal for preschool and early school-age kids, who need something easy to understand and quick to reward. It also works for adults at a relaxed barn party with a distance challenge. Schools and churches like it because volunteers run it with no training. A sticker or small candy for every player keeps the line happy.
Pair it and book it
Line it up with Sombrero Toss and Lasso the Longhorn for a simple fairground row. For a farm theme, our cow milking contest is a natural partner. Small games like this often go further in a package, and every option is on our add-ons page. Get a quote when you are ready.
Questions people ask
How many beanbags does each player get?
Three is standard, but you can set your own rules on the day.
Can toddlers play?
Yes, with a very short throwing line and a parent nearby.
Do you supply an attendant?
Usually it is not needed. A volunteer can reset the crows and hand out beanbags once we set up.
